I have a few rather large spots of black acrylic paint on the walls of my apartment. I'm moving out soon and want my deposit back. Any idea on how I can remove the acrylic paint, but not the white paint on the walls? Ive tried soap and water to no avail.

why not try white spirit, or paint over the black paint with the same colour the walls are.

I got the paint off with rubbing alcohol, but it took off the white paint on the wall also. After I cleaned it up a bit I just spray painted over the bare spots the rubbing alcohol left. I have to look hard to notice any blemish in the wall. It worked good enough for a rented place that I'm soon moving out of, but if it were a wall in a house I owned, I'd suggest a different way to do it.
