Add COM 2 port to DOS via PCI bus

Miracle needed

Need to add a second RS232 serial port as COM2 ( or 3 or 4 ) to a machine running DOS 6.3, a 1998 application and only PCI slots.

In 1999 the application was "upgraded" to Windows and has never been as good as the DOS based version. It runs in a DOS window but without some of the features.

Change of mother board is the least prefered option.

Yep, here's one I prepared earlier.

Previous attempts with PCI board ports have not been successful due to the application program reading and writing direct to hardware adresses.

COM1 3F8 - 3FF IRQ4 (exists on mother board)
COM2 2F8 - 2FF IRQ3

The the drivers provide did not interface to the application. They were all Windows 95 or upwards and the machine does not have Window.

I have contacted the manufactures of the OBO board.
