Probably a naive question:
How feasible is it to add a new window to a ground floor wall? I'm talking maybe an 80cm-wide window in a 3m stretch of wall between an external door and the corner of the house, which is a bog standard two-storey 1980s end-of-terrace. The room directly above is a bedroom, if that matters.
Where does this idea sit on the spectrum from "routine as long as done by competent builders with correct structural calculations" to "you're crazy to even consider it"?
Reason for asking is that I am considering having an extension built but it would probably make this room a bit dark unless it is possible to add this new window.
