Hi

I want to add two new ceiling lights on the upstairs landing (Brass eyeball type R63). I already have one and after inspection in the loft the existing one is wired in with an ordinary chocolate box type thing which in turn is wired to the lighting circuit cable.

Now for some needed advice?

Is it easier to replace the chocolate box with a junction box so I can then run a new cable to the new lights?

Do I need 1mm square or 1.5mm square two core and earth?

When Ive run the new cable to the location of the new light can I then wire the brass eyeball light straight into a junction box or do I need to wire it to a ceiling rose and then to the jct box? Cos the light is recessed I would need to screw the ceiling rose onto an adjoing timber in the loft

Any help appreciated
