Hi guy's

Can any of you professionals help me out with the exterior of my house.
It's a 1930's semi and i want to do a good job

A few questions i need help with are;

1 how is it best to prepare the cracks for painting and what products can i use for filling them

2 how can i prepare the scars left from cavity wall tie failure, new wall tie's and cavity wall insulation, so i cant see them when painted over. Some of the patches have small gaps between them and the original render

3 do i need to use a primer before painting and if so what are the best products

4 i have small patches of algae on the north facing wall, will jet washing be ok or does it need treating with something

5 There are all types of paint, water based/oil based/latex based, what is best and what manufacturers of paint are recommended

All in all, im asking how to do a proffessional job that will last for years, i am a plumber by trade and work is very quite so i have plenty of time on my hands,

Thanks guys!

And 1 last thing

what is the best way to prepare and paint the bricks at the bottom and what colour would look the most appealing if i need to paint them, the rest of the house will be white
