Advice for exterior door handle repair for VW Passatt estate

I need to get a rear off side exterior door handle replaced on a 03 1.9 TDi VW Passatt Estate. The mechanism works though the whole door handle section is missing. Any ideas of a repair bill cost? I'd try it myself but feel this could be slightly beyond my diy limit of expertise!

It might be easier to buy an entire door from a breaker and take what you need, rather than buy the smaller parts. Even swap the whole door !
Or buy one with working lock but a dent?

They seem to be £50 on eBay or visit a breaker

Find a friendly independant mechanic?

The advantage of a complete door is that you can see how the assembly works.
Take loads of photos if you DIY on disassembly

Ive personally not removed the handle itself but the inner door panel is quite tricky to remove on these and takes quite a bit of time and patience.
Not a nice job!
