Advice needed - making good a brick pier

Hi, Can anyone give me some ideas for making this ready to plaster, timber frame isn't ideal as pipework would make it huge - unless I frame it another way to avoid the pipework? Thanks

Just done a few , used foam gun and plasterboard, stick one side and fill voids with more foam, add other side and foam again, then face edge. Does not look a very tidy cut, what did you use? --- a blunt spoon?

It was done before I got to it, there was an archway over the top we replaced with steel, pulled the plasterboard off to find this :/
