We have a double garage door (up and over sectional)which I believe is a Hormann panel type (after hunting online for similar). It is very heavy and manually operated.

My query is can an electric motor be fitted to the door so it can be opened remotely? It's quite new (fitted not long before we moved here) and we can't afford a new whole door.

Is it possible to fit an electric motor and does anyone have an idea of approx. cost? Also, what happens if there is a power cut (to the elec. door that is!)?

Grateful for advice.
