Hello everyone, if possible i would like some advice.

I have a park home to paint(exterior), could anyone give me advice if there is any difference between Resitex thermoplastic paints and good old fashioned Sandtex or similar.

Resitex is four times the price of Sandtex, is there much difference to justify the price?

Thank you for any replies on this..

Sam.

A lot of architect etc specify these fancy paint normally becasue they sound good!

Take that stuff these firms over to spray paint your house with..all it is is thick pliolite based gear...the same stuff that all the paint companies do

Theres a 15 year gaurentee on nearly every masonry paint I know of..does this thermo plastic stuff have it?

And even if it does...one thing that will happen to it, like every other paint on and exterior..it will get dirty and need doing again in a few years.

Dulux Crown, Johstones, Leyland, Sandtex,,,arnt the biggest manufacturers for nothing...if this other stuff was as good it would be up there with them.

And remember the paint is as only as good as the surface you are putting it on.

But if thats what they want give it to them...as long as everyone else is pricing for the same stuff

Thanks for the reply Zampa.

I have painted a few of these park homes in the past, with these types of jobs on quoting for the job i normally specify that they supply the paint. I had my suspicions of this type of paint (thermoplastic), that it was no more than a glorified masonary paint. It smelt, looked and felt like masonary paint, and on a lot of the containers it never seemed to specify what went into it, which i found unusual.
When the owner/occupier have said to me "use this wonderful paint" at £90 for (20 Ltr) i personally thought that they are being had.
Now if i am approached for any more work, ill go with Sandtex.

Thanks again :)

Sam.
