agitator not working

I have kenmore clothes washer with cork screw agitator...that pulls the clothes down during agitation cycle....I noticed that is almost spinning freely, which tells me something either broker or belt off...any ideas...

You might want to check the 4 agitator clutch dogs that are under the top part of the agitator. Usually, if you take off the cap you should see a bolt holding the agitator down. Remove the bolt and flip the assembly over.
