Hi,

I installed a power shower about 3 months ago and everything has been working fine.

The other day when running it the initial pressure seemed a bit low and the pump seemed to be making more noise than usual. To me it sounded like the pump didnt have enough water in it and was spinning faster.
Turning the shower on and off a few times resulted in the pressure returning and what sounds like a hiss of air coming out the shower head.

This is now happening every day. I installed a warix flange which I thought was supposed to stop air getting into it?

Anyone have any suggestions what could be causing this?

Thanks

Is this a twin impeller pump?

Perhaps it isn't the hot supply that's getting air in it. :?:

If the water temp is cylinder is above 60c you can get caviatation (air bubbles) in the shower pump

Was describing it in a way the guy could understand instead of in depth physics of why cavities also known as bubbles form which could be his problem , not saying it is the problem just a suggestion

Air bubbles are one thing, and you're right this could be a cause.

Cavitation, which you mentioned, not me, is not the same thing as air bubbles, or indeed bubbles of anything.

As i said not going into physics of the cavities also describes as bubbles being partial vacums so in effect are bubbles of nothing

Thanks for all the quick replies.

Yeah I believe it is a twin impeller pump, its a Watermill wasp 1.4bar pump.

If it is this Cavitation or air bubbles in the pump is there anything that can be done about it?

Thanks

FFS, have you checked the cold supply as well as the hot?

It does get warmer all of a sudden too when it sorts itself out, could this imply that its the hot thats the problem?
