Just posting in case this helps anyone. We had air filling up two radiators and I was having to bleed them at least every week and overflow pipe running out occasionally. I must have had six heating engineers looking at this who were no help. They either suggested a combi or that I must have a massive leak somewhere. Chat GPT suggested turning the pump down in the airing cupboard. Problem solved.

Just gone through some of your old messages but they seem to mention blockages and powerflushes. Glad you’ve sorted the problem.

I will get a powerflush in the near future I think as it’s 12 years since one was done but I can’t tell you how relieved I am not to be bleeding radiators and listening to gurgling noises.

Don't know if your gas? boiler had/has a external circ pump and if it had been renewed with a Grundfos UPS3 at any stage previous to the air problem, the UPS3 is dispatched set to its highest setting of 6.4M, not only that but this very powerful pump will circulate over 18LPM and still almost maintain 6.4M head which can and does wreck havoc in OV systems with pumpover and air ingress etc, reducing to its lowest speed will still give a > 4M head quite sufficient for most needs, quite a few installers seem to have been caught out with this which is a bit surprising because traditionally, most circ pumps were just run on speed 2 routinely which would probably not cause much problems even on the UPS3 at 5M.
