Any home alarm installers ?

My panel would trigger the tamper light on setting, due to misfitting front control panel.

On removing the front cover 1 wire has been dislogded, I have placed it back into where i thougght it came from.

Now when the sensor on hallway is triggered, the panel will BEEP.

obviously this wire that became disconnected doesnt go where i thought.

current wiring:-

Red C
Black D

Green - (12vdc)
White + (12vdc)

Tamp24
Blue
Yellow

total of 6 pins in screw connector.

3 sensors within property.

Any specialists who might have an incline ?.

I understand that every home may use different colours, But i could remove sensors and check what colours are used if necessary.

Thanks for reading guys.

Updated situation,

Sensor 2 (pir), now thinks it is a door sensor, when i move around in living room i get a beep from the control panel.

Walk test shows all pir's (3) and door sensors trigger their appropriate positions.

No wiring has been changed from a working setup of 4 years.

Anyone have any ideas on reprogramming the board to tell it that pir 2 is not a door contact.

All input welcome

Alan

If I'm reading you post correctly, the first problem was a Tamper alarm due to a mis-fitting cover. Although all alarm panels are different, most of the cover tamper alarms are done via a micro switch and are factory wired.

It's sounds like you may have had a loose wire all the time which moved each time you touched the cover.

To try and help, each PIR has 6 wires, a 12volt pos and neg supply, a tamper loop which is further 2 wires and an alarm trigger which is a further 2 wires

The alarm trigger wires can go anyway round as they are a "switch" and the same applies to the tamper wires.

Which colour wire had come out?. Also, can you post a pic of the complete circuit board

Thanx Pensdown,

Problem turned out to be pir 2, had been activated to beep on movement, not thru the walk test, when pressing * it shows which sensors will been when triggered.

On fitting the disconnected wire in the panel, somehow *2 must have been pressed thus activating beep on pir 2.

At least now you have cleared up the 6 wire connections, which all makes sense now.

Cheers
Al
