I have this boiler which had external Honeywell thermostat fitted.
Thermostat broke whilst decorating so I disconnected wires and just put insulated wires.
This stopped heating from working but water was OK.
I therefore went to reconnect the thermostat but think may have got wires the wrong way round.
Now there is no water or heating. No lights on front of boiler.
I checked internal 2A fuse which had blown but have no fuse to replace it with.
I bypassed the fuse by joinig the wires on each side of fuse with terminal strip but still nothing.
Anyone any ideas?

OP, I think you need to maybe pick up some elementary books that kids use in physcis class from your local liberary.

These will tell you what a fuse is.

If you do not want to read, then let me tell you what a fuse is. It is a weak link in the chain that commit hara kiri should you decide to subjet it interable pressure i.e. short out N and L conductors at the thermostat. When the fuse self sacrificed, it protected the team that is the PCB.

Short circuiting/ bypassing the fuse is same as sticking a six inch nail in the fuse carrier. In so doing, what you now have is a heater instead of a control unit, but sadly lifespan of a PCB as a heater is minscule.

Suggest you get somone who knows about fuses and carries life giving elixer to bring your boiler back to life.

Do not get upset having read the reply. You are not alone. Many would have chosen a 13 amp fuse. Result would have been the same. Before bedtime, might be an idea to talk to the man upstars and see if Santa can make an early call and deliver the replacement components.
