Alpha cd28x - when hot tap turned on sometimes take a few seconds (20 plus) for boiler to fire up, and the amber light, one up from the bottom one flickers on and off , then boiler fires up. Some times it fires straight away, other times 20 plus seconds? Any alpha wiz kids out there who could put me in the right direction? cheers.

Are you sure it is an Alpha CD 28X ? ive never heard of that model are you sure its not a CB 28x ? might sound pedantic but the CD and CB ranges are completely different

just checked with Alpha and they did indeed make a CD28X the neon you are referring to should never flicker as you suggest it should either be off or solid that is the burmer on neon, Possibly a PCB fault but these are expensive so I would get someone in to check before replacing, PS dont be tempted to just swap the PCB the burner pressures are set via the PCB not something you can do yourself
