Alternative to expensive swimming pool hoist/lift for disabled

I can't see the traditional engine hoist idea working out tbh unless you're handy with a welder and have some engineering facilities to hand. A 'swivel lifting crane' might be a better option eg https://www.rockmachinery.co.uk/product/1000lb-swivel-lifting-crane-with-winch-3/

Have you also considered searching google for the following:

swivel lifting crane
Davits for tenders
Davits for outboards
Cargo booms
eg https://www.lifting-products.com/pr...88sqycnupp8lq4xlr2qbzbyvfpwbypexoc0waqavd_bwe

I certainly will do,but can you see the photos I includes? the hoist there is a swivel one, fixed to the ground, not a traditional engine lift.

For sure it is, but the only way a hoist on wheels will work would be to have it counterbalanced just like the commercial ones. I just assumed you could put a concrete base down next to your pool edge and you'd have to bolt it in position at the beginning of the season and unbolt it to store at the end of the season. All these factors are why the proper hoists cost a couple of grand.
