Alternatives to interior filler ........ Jointing compound

Hi al

Looking to fill and prepare a fair few walls prior to either painting or papering.

Is there anything I can use that comes in bigger bags than 1kg interior filler?

Could something like jointing compound be used instead?

I always use jointing compound, its far easier to apply and to sand, as long as you sand gently!
