Some cultures have a very low value on human life. A mate of mine bought a house, cheap, over 35 years ago because it had some fire damage. The Pakistani owner had set fire to his wife and killed her in one of the bedrooms.
A similar thing happened a few miles from us. The wife was allegedly being badly treated by the husband and was having an affair so he killed her, but he went on to kill his three kids too.
He fled to Thailand after the killings but GMP contacted the Thai authorities and the stopped him as he attempted to cross the border into Malaysia.
He flew back to the UK where he was arrested.
He subsequently pleaded guilty to manslaughter of his wife but claimed that he was provoked.
He was convicted of the murder of all four of them.
The house eventually sold. Every time I go past, I can't help think of the poor victims. Rahan Arshad is his name.
