The previous owners of our house had the forethought to put in some sort of flexible trunking under the block paved drive with what can only be described as place holders for junction boxes / switches at intervals along the driveway, I’d like to put in some lighting down the drive way, probably no more than about 20 small spot lights, low voltage if possible. What cable do I need to try and thread down the underground ‘tube’ for this? The trunking seems to be a rubberised outer layer, with a flexible steel inner btw.

Hello 'in one', (pickle ?)

The first thing to do is determine what kind of lights you want to fit (IP rated, size, LED etc ) and add up the total 'power'(W) needed. We will also need the length of run, From here you can do your cable calcs.

It sounds like some kind of copex that has been left for you to draw the cable into  (any chance of a pic?), steel wired armoured would be the cable to use. (Not so easy to draw in thru the 'copex' !!!! )

Does this 'flexible trunking' run to the C/U, and if not where do you intend to get your power source ??

Many Thanks

Ed
