You need the equation for Capacitance in terms of the absolute permittivity of the dielectric, the area of the plates and the distance between them (ie thickness of the dielectric). It in all the basic electronics textbooks and courses and all over the net. You also need the relative permittivity value for air (you already have it for mica) and the permittivity of free space - which is 8.85x10E-12 F/m

If this is a coursework question then you surely must have been give the equation and have references to look up the permittivity values?

C = E * A / d
Where:
E = permittivity (farads per metre)
A = area (square metres)
d = separation distance (metres)

Permittivity of air is 8.85 * 10^-12 F/m. The answer for mica will simply be six times greater.

The idea was to get him to research it himself!
