just found this post and answers, are they correct as it goes against everything ive been told previously?

1. If main tails are not 25mm do you HAVE to upgrade them before carrying out any work?

2. Similiarily if main earth is not 16mm and main bond is not 10mm MUST this be upgraded first before carrying out any work

3. Also how would you split tails into a henley block?

1. No, but recommend to client
2. No, but recommend to client

Remember the first rule of installation work:

You must not leave the installation in a worse condition than before you got there!

So, for 1.... consider the existing load and what you are adding.
Suppose the existing 16mm tails are barely enough to cope with the existing load and you are adding 16KW Induction Hob. Its no good telling the client as he wont do anything about it.

For 2. Ditto and read Chapter 542 & 543 in the red book (its good for you)

3. Well very broad question. dont you have to do something about disconnection of supply?
And a single point of isolation of the supply????

Also, It might be two in and eight out.....

In many cases you'll find 10mm main earthing conductors and 6mm protective equipotential bonding conductors are fully compliant.
It depends on the type of supply amongst other things.
