Hi there,

I'm looking at buying a cordless SDS drill and was just seeking some advice before I do.....

I've been looking at the Makita 18v 3.0ah Li-ion SDS from screwfix (priced £379.99) but just wondered whether it would be as powerful as a 24v drill which has an Ni-Cd or Ni-Mh battery?

It would be used regulary, from drilling 5.5mm holes, up to drilling through walls with a 16mm - 20mm drill bit

If I'd be better off buying a 24v drill, can anybody recommend which one?

Thanks alot for help......

I've got both the Makita 18v li-on and the 24v bosch.

Both good kit but i only use the Mak these days - same battery as rest of kit.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I'd written off a 36v because of price, but that website looks reasonable....

Asked a few lads on site too and they said that the Makita 18v is cracking! One lad has that and a De-walt 24v and says the Makita 18v is miles better.....
