I'm looking for compact but decent quality machines to kit out my workshop, for cabinet and furniture construction. Table saw, moulder and planer/thicknesser plus dust extraction to start with.

It's not easy finding machines between the domestic/hobbyist types and super-professional levels, that isn't re-badged eastern-European, or far-east stuff. I've found a company in Leipzig (I'm over the border in Switzerland) called Winter Holztechnik seem to have this covered with these (they're the smallest machines they make of each type):

They sell direct, so I can't check out the machines unless I go for a jaunt to their factory. Does anyone have any experience of this company's kit (or suggestions for alternatives)?

TIA,
AP

Personally I would stay clear.
Looks good but the quality cannot be there.

The Austrian manufacturer Felder is on your door step.

Whilst its extreme high quality kit for the discerning woodworker they also do the cheaper Hammer range which is still top notch.

They average about 50-70kg heavier than each machine in your links.

The UK list prices look hefty enough but where you are might be a lot different.
And going by UK list prices you could have the C3 31 combination machine for another €1300.
Have a look at this and see what you think....

Many thanks Norcon for the feedback - I hadn't heard of Felder and will take a look.

Good thought for combination machine, but unfortunately, I have a long but quite narrow space (2m80 x 9m80) so not enough space to get around a combination machine - table saw will have to be movable for working on larger pieces, so really heavy machines are out.

Some other constraints: I'm also limited to 10A (3-phase), including lighting, filtration, extraction etc, so much thinking/planning to be done.

Then again, I like the planning phase - it's really cheap, and everything's possible :)

Thanks again,
AP
