Is it necessary to replace the whole valve assembly? the diapragm is faulty, microswitch is ok. actuator not pushing the microswitch closed when hot water demanded. therfor hot water is only available when microsw closed manually or if the CH is turned on constantly.
been quoted 350 quid to fix it, parts and 2 hr labour!
Diaphragm i seen on www was 10 quid!

We repair them for about £106 in our local area!

Not every engineer will repair them but the whole part is only about £100 so that price seems excessive to me. I would allow about 1.25 hours to do the job but we always do them at a fixed price.

Even British/Scottish Gas have a fixed price repair at about £215 !
