ariston eurocombi hot water but no heating

hey ppl,
my ariston eurocombi a23 mffi, heats domestic hot water with no problems. however, when i put it into central heating it will turn on and after 5 seconds (i timed it ) it 'powers down'

so far everyone (on google) has the opposite problem (heating but no water)

seems i'm like the only one (either that or i'm crap at googling )

no, all 'noises' seem to be normal

any one with any other suggestions, before i go for one of these...

hey good thing i didn't just pop out to get one before the shop closes lol

could check that its not stuck in the hot water position and just heating the primary circuit
