Ariston Microgenus 23 HW Problem

Hi .. I am having problems with my Hot Water on My Microgenus 23 Combi boiler. The water takes a while to get hot (not a problem (about 15 seconds)) - but after 20 seconds, it changes to warm and then cold. It then gets hot again and repeats the process. The central heating has no problems and the pressure is on 1.5 bar. We just don't get a continuous stream of hot water so running a bath is a problem, and washing up is a problem.

I have not yet mastered a total understanding of the multitude of different designs of similar named Ariston boilers.

If your boiler is one of the versions with a plate heat exchanger then the likelyhood is that this is blocked by sludge.

If its one of the four pipe versions then the temperature control devices are not operating correctly. This would need a little testing by a competent person to diagnose.

With either arrangement there may be a combustion control problem but this should only be investigated by a competent CORGI.
