Ariston microgenus 23 packed in! help?

hello everyone,

my boiler doesn't fire up any more! no hot water or heating!!

when i switched it on all the temperature lights come on but no flame, i don't no much about boilers and dont know where to start, i thought it could be pressure I had some air in one rad which I bleed about a month ago and since then sometimes the boiler needs to be reset with the reset switch, i always thought that after bleeding the rad that i would need to put some water back in the system but couldn't work out how to do it, only today i worked out that you need to open both of the plastic valves togther and the pressure rises,

anyway i just opened both these valves to see if adding some pressure would get the thing going, the pressure went right up to about 3bar and wouldn't go down so i have bleed a rad to get the pressure down again

is there anything i could be trying, or any basic checks before I call in a plumber? wish i could find the manual for this thing!

do these things have a pilot light that should always be on? im guessing it has a electric start or something as i cant remember ever seeing a pilot light

I think you would be best calling a boiler engineer.

Never bleed rads if you dont know how to repressurise or dont want to bother!

Likely just a faulty thermistor. It's the part that measures the heating water temperature. Seen this a few times, assuming the boiler isn't firing and raising temperature really quickly.
Decent boiler guy is the answer.

Make sure he also checks the EXV as that may well be failed too!
