Patience can do it but, in reality, you’re going to have a real hard time matching it if you’ve not done it before & it’s a largish area. Stipple can be relatively easy but with all the other patterns, no two interpretations will be the same; it all depends on the style of the original Artexer & you have to replicate how he did it.
Don't know the circumstances but as Artex is only marginally more fashionable than farting at a dinner party these days, you may be better getting it skimmed & end up with a nice flat, modern ceiling.
What a great expression R.C very succinct You will never match the artex pattern as posted, no two people will create the same pattern ever and broken leather i.e applied with plastic wrapped round a sponge, you have no chance with either re- creating the same mixture ar applying it .Go for re- skim and enjoy the next dinner party.
