How likely is this to contain asbestos?
And how likely is there to be more under the floorboards in the kitchen?
I’m planning on replacing the floorboards with plywood soon.
Thanks!

That appears to be a paper label on an electrical cable, with a plaster wall behind. Which part are you asking about?

As for under your kitchen floor - how would we know?

The lagging around the electrical cable, I figured it is hessian/bitumen but unsure. The paper label for the date, not sure if installation date though

If the wall was plastered between the 1920s and early 1990s, it is possible it was done with asbestos containing plaster.

Don't mess with it...

As for the wall, doubt it but get a tester kit about 40 quid ish from amazon

I’m not overly concerned about it existing, I spent long enough in the armed forces where there’s more asbestos stickers on things than you can shake a stick at. But I just want an understanding of things during the planning phase of my kitchen revamp

And I’m more focused on the electric cable lagging, and if I can make an assumption of asbestos lagging presence on hot pipes under the kitchen floorboards
