I wouldn't be surprised if some Tory donor somewhere didn't own property on Ascension Island.
Once Priti Patel starts sending captured channel hoppers down to Ascension they are going to need accommodation.
No doubt someone will just happen to have property available suitable for the influx of assorted channel hoppers and other illegals.

Yeah, and I hear Nauru is also lovely. When you're in a prison it doesn't really matter how many nice beaches are nearby.

Why would they be in prison.
If they ask to have their asylum applications rescinded they could leave anytime.
Anyway would it be any different to being banged up in some Asylum detention centre in England.
On Ascension Island they could be allowed a lot more freedom.
Brazil is nearest at 1000 miles away, if they want to try to get there , fine, let them try.
If their asylum claims are approved they can go back to the UK if they wish.

Why does anyone pay any attention to or discuss what Priti Patel says any more?
She has not carried out any of the things she has promised.
I discussed the need for change in the way voting works (electoral reform) recently. One vital change would be to penalise politicians who break their promises. Any one of them that breaks a promise on which they were elected should be kicked out.
