Renato Subotic was on his way to do some MMA training seminars when he claims immigration officers sent him to a federal prison for 24 hours over a minor visa issue.

The Supreme Court case about the man who Trump admits was wrongly sent to an El Salvador prison is very interesting.

In her statement on Thursday, Justice Sotomayor wrote that it would be shameful “to leave Abrego Garcia, a husband and father without a criminal record, in a Salvadoran prison for no reason recognized by the law.”

She added that the government’s position “implies that it could deport and incarcerate any person, including U. S. citizens, without legal consequence, so long as it does so before a court can intervene.”

“That view,” the justice wrote, “refutes itself.”

It is very worrying for democracy. Basically, any law firm which represents a client who takes a case against Trump's policies is being sanctioned by the government. Clearly the aim is to prevent any legal challenge. In addition, Trump is routinely ignoring court orders or getting the Supreme Court to kick the cases into the long grass. A slippery slope to authoritarianism.

Nah the US has always been tough on visa requirements.
