Back boiler removal

Hello I'm removing a fireplace with back boiler can I just close off the pipis at the hot water tank of is kg not that simples

I'm worried the kg of water involved.

Isolate electrically, drain and get your gas safe engineer to crap off the gas and all will be well, but the pipis?

Drain the system and cylinder depending on whether it is a direct or indirect cylinder and cap pipes or plug the cylinder with 1" plugs.

It's an indirect system so if iv drained the system and capped the pipes its OK to carry on using the cylinder i take it
