Newbie here after some advice. We have just moved in to our new 1930's semi that has a Baxi Bermuda 552 back boiler.
We are in shock as our gas bill for ONE month has come in at £150 and we have monitored our usage and the meter reads that we have used 80 units in one week alone. We only have the heating/ water on twice a day for a max of 5hours...although some weekends its been on more depending on the weather.

Is this sort of cost normal for a back boiler running 7 rads? We weren't on the greatest tariff as we had to use Npower but it still seems OTT cos we normally use 80 units in one month.

The boiler has been serviced since we moved in and the guy reckoned it never had been before, could this be why it has used so much?

Thanks

dirty boiler will use more gas than a clean one, check after a week, multiply by 4, approx monthly usage then compare again

so after it has been cleaned out, should it be running better? It has used 80 units in one week and that is after e-on man got his hands filthy!

Should definately use less gas after a service, provided it has been properly cleaned out internally.

You normally use 80 units in 1 month. Is this at this new property or your previous property?
