Hi there

Hoping someone can offer advice please!

We recently had a chimney rebuilt and hope to start using it with a real fire this weekend.

We are intending on buying a fire basket which has a back, but presumably we should also do something to the back of the chimney (i.e. the adjoining wall of the house) to protect it from the heat.

I have seen that you can buy fire proof paint in DIY shops, is this enough to protect the wall do you think?

I don't envisage a lot of heat hitting the wall as most if it will be taken by the fire basket back, but I assume we should do something?

Thanks in advance, I hope this makes sense!
