I have a small bungalow which is heated by a combi boiler. All the lockshield valves are fully open.Would I benefit by balancing the system bearing in mind that all my rads are on one level ie bungalow also the bathroom rad does not have a trv fitted all the other rads do ,a total of 5 rads, would the bathroom rad have to be balanced as well.

If your combi has no integeral bypass fitted then the bathroom rad should be kept fully open. With only 5 rads with 4 on TRV's i don't think balancing is required unless you find a distinct delay in rad temp on initial heating.

Have a play, try restricting a few lockshields down and see how the system performs.

thanks for that Gas,do you mean both valves on the bathroom rad to be left fully open.

Yes, it will act as a bypass route for the residual heat in the system.
