ballast fixture failed install

Old ballast started to flicker just as the washer went on peak spin cycle
tried second bulb ( tube?) and 3 starters
same results
flickering all the way along and nearly starting

local store offered a new 58watt ballast starter and blub for £15.90
said it was dead easy install

I have seen 'rose' fixtures hanging from previously fluroscent light positions , so I had a crack at it

failed

can you advise - all input philosophically received

Leave the light turned off and call an electrician in the morning.

It is unclear where the blue wires are going so the pictures are worthless.

As for the cable joints, they need to be done properly they are dangerous.

I would suggest you contact someone competent and the bloke in the
shop should not be giving you advice like that.
