Hello,

I know there may be posts on this in the past but atm i dont have the time to search, i have a plumber coming out fisrt thing in the morning and would like to try and get a brief idea on what the fault could be befor it gets comdemed and need a new one!

Fisrt of all about 3 weeks ago, my boiler stopped working, had a call from the missus, i asked her what the pressure was on the guage was on and it was 0.5. i told here to turn the lever to fill it up, but by the time i told her to stop on 1.5 it shot to 3+

I had a guy come out he took sorted the pressure out but had noticed some water, he had no idea where it was from, but i noticed it had ran down the expansion chamber is it? the red sort of like square shape at the side. Anyway he explained when the pressure was to high it could pop out causeing this but it was ok. and has worked fine till today.

The heating was on and i was running a bath for the kids, all of a sudden i heard a clanging noise. i went up stairs and found it coming from the boiler and it was quite loud and didnt sound good. It sound a bit like somthing was being thrown around inside. I turned it off and, waited a few mins and put it back on with just the heating on its own. This was fine, but as soon as i turned the tap back on it stated again.

A bit long winded but if i didnt give all details it might not sound right.

If anyone can shed some like on what it could be it would be much appreciated, to me it seems a problem having both heating and water at the same time, but im no expert.

Thanks in advance guys, alex

Why not wait until this "guy" comes?

At least he will be able to see your boiler model which we cannot!
