banging pipes - Is it my toilet system?

Our pipes make a horrendous banging sound whenever the bathroom toilet is flushed. Any ideas? I'm at a loss, but cannot bear the sound as it is getting louder and louder, day by day. Please help!

Try fitting a flow restrictor in the inlet valve.

You haven't just been converted from gravity cold water to mains pressure by any chance have you?
