bar shower pipes not exposed enough

i have just purchased a new triton bar mixer shower as my old one broke.
The wall is tiled at the moment.
The pipes are not coming out of the wall enough to allow both the shower and the plastic cover disc. (the old one didnt either) the person who lived in the house before fitted the shower.
Is there any way of extending the pipe/ thread so i dont have to just fit the shower and see the thread? without removing tiles

I take it you mean the dogleg threads are shallow ?
Give us a pic.

yes the thread dosent come far enough to take bothe the cover and the shower nut will try get a photo on tonight

you could try trimming a bit off the chrome covers.

you can get chrome extensions for them that are stright but need cutting to lenght but it all depends if you've got 1/2 female thread there at all, i cant make out from the picture wether you can unscrew whats sticking out there, hope this helps
