Bare plasterboard ceiling - kitchen

Good Evening,

I've just re-boarded the kitchen ceiling, and it won't be getting skimmed immediately - it'll be a few weeks, possibly longer.

Bearing in mind a normal kitchen environment, does it need to be protected in any way before it gets skimmed?

Ideally you do not want to get grease on to the boards, but what practical measures you take, to protect the board surface from that is up to you. I doubt over the short term that would/should be an issue.
