base coat/backing plaster

if the base coat has cracks in after it is put on, will the top coat crack in these places too?

what plaster did you use and on what surface

Did you give the wall a good soaking before hand

a bit but the room was so hot it just dried out, will top coat be ok on it?

how thick did you apply the hardwall and did you apply a scratch coat first the only way to kill the suction is to keep soaking the wall until the water starts to drip of instead of drawing back,depends what the cracks are like(size-depth)
