I have a very large 50 year old italian "bottle" (15 litre!) which is set up rather like a Chianti bottle, The body of which is set in a wood basket-work with decorative rope work around the neck. I would like to protect the basketwork so I am seeking a fairly colourless spray to protect the basket work so that I may put the bottle on display on the patio. I have looked around and can only find paint which I do not want to use as it would ruin the appearance of the flask. Any ideas out there? regards dave

Wipe over with teak oil, will soak into the basket and help preserve it.
