Hi. I currently have 22mm Hot and cold pipes running from a hot water cylinder and gravity fed cold water tank feeding my current bath mixer tap. The new bath mixer I’ve ordered has 1/2 inch connectors rather than 22mm. Is reducing to 15mm at the end of the run before hooking up to the mixer tap going to significantly reduce the speed the bath fills at? Note the shower runs from a different source so not impacted.

Thanks

It will be slower, whether it's significant is a matter of opinion. Why not take it back and get the right one for the job?

1. Check the pressure requirements of the new tap. If its designed for high pressure supplies it may not suit as you have low pressure.
2. High pressure taps (generally requiring 1.0 bar or more) do not necessarily need 3/4" connections.
3. Low pressure taps (generally ones which work off 0.2 bar upwards) need 3/4" connections to get the flow rate at the lower pressure.

If you have a cold water cistern (CWSC) in the attic and HW cylinder on 1st floor then you really need full flow 3/4” taps to maintain proper flow. Anything less and it will reduce the flow.
