Hi, I am removing my Freestanding Roll Top Bath. Worked out how to do that but having problems siting the waste for the new bath. The existing waste is in completely the wrong place.
The new bath is going in the corner of the 2 outside walls. The tap and waste end is on the outside wall with the downpipe etc.
Can I use a shallow trap/ubend to avoid going under the floorboards as its so close to the wall ? Bath will be a normal traditional fitted bath (dont know what they are called)
Thank you.

Whilst I rarely disagree with the learned pro's on here, and especially @Hugh Jaleak, unfortunately I have to this time

75mm depth of seal is for basins - it's a 50mm min seal for a bath trap

That being said, no where does it allow for a 19mm shallow bath trap water seal so no, you couldn't use that for your bath.

Only problem is if I shorten the existing waste it would be 30mm off centre of the new bath. Does that matter ? As you can tell I am a complete novice.

Pictures would probably help.
Excuse the mess. The new bath 1500mm by 700mm is going where the 2 blue marks are on the wall (obviously not that high !!!) The taps and waste are now going on the end to the right. I can obviously shorten/move the water pipes but the waste pipe will be about 40mm off centre. I can't move it as the joists are already butchered and there is no wiggle room.
Cutting the floorboards not a problem as plywood and lino going down.
Fitting the bath onto tiles already there (can't mess around with them as only have 5 spares) is not a problem as going to use this https://www.teleseal.co.uk/index.html

Why can’t you connect to existing under the floor? Fitting to a tiled wall is less than ideal you need to tile down to top of bath as it’s highly unlikely your bath will meet the walls in corner as they are likely out of square meaning you can’t seal safely .

Have a look at my reply above.

I might not be understanding but I'm not sure what the issue is. I only see one blue mark on the wall but I take it you're basically replacing in the same orientation but you'll be up against the right wall and up against the shelf wall with a standard straight edge bath so the waste will be shorter and closer to the shelf wall. The new bath will hide the waste anyway presumably so there's no need to have it centred on the hole, can just be pulled to where you need it. Might be easier to replace with a plastic waste and making it up to suit

Where the bath waste and ergo trap will be located, can you not remove the flooring below it and that will allow the trap to sit down into the floor space between the joists?

I also have to agree with the point around the tiling, if you are going to use the bath for showering then using that type of seal onto tiles is a big no no, guaranteed it will never work long term.

Do you need to though? I guess baths come in all shapes and sizes but mine is stood off at least 100mm above the floorboards

It's usually dictated by the bath panel height TBH.

The OP has suggested that the bath waste isn't high enough to clear anything but a shallow bath trap. I presume they have already sized it all up and the bath isn't high enough for a standard 50mm trap to clear the floor level. Hence the OP.
