Bathroom extractor fan / vent noise question

Hi

to the bathroom / shower room (25sm3) and while the fan is very quite, the noise from the vent is louder than i expected. The ceiling vent is 2m from the fan that is mounted on the retaining wall in the attic. I was wondering if i added an additional vent using a T ducting piece on the first vent, it would reduce 'airflow' noise through the vent covers themselves as it would reduce the speed through each vent? while still maintaining similar extraction rate between the two of them? I would place the second vent about 1.5 meters from the first one.

Any thoughts / comments greatly appreciated.

I fitted a T to my 6 inch fan to improve extraction across shower room , and also mounted the inline fan on springs suspended from roof timbers, this reduces noise transfer.
You need to establish the cause of the noise, could be the vent hose is transmitting noise from the fan which may be vibrating , if mounted to brickwork needs a rubber mount under each 'foot'.

no vibration from fan. and no noise with no hose / ducting. i am suspecting that it the noise of rushing air through the hose / vent.

would solid ducting be quieter?

Possibly, less turbulence with smooth sides.
