hi all! newbie here... i am trying to figure out how to turn the fan on and off from the unit itself (there is a pull cord but it doesn't do anything). there is a timer that is set to the shortest amount of time but that is not suitable.

like, now i am in there merely cleaning, i do not need the fan on but it comes on automatically with the light.

and when i get in to take a shower i could just pull the cord on from the unit and have the fan run when it actually makes sense to run, not just be a noisy box in the corner (to be honest, it doesn't do much for removing steam either!)

am i making sense? lol... i would also like to be able to alter this without electrocution! thanks for any help you can give :)

I guess your current fan runs when the lights on and you don't like it.

You could

a) fit a separate pull cord to run the fan. (with neon)
b) fit a fan with built in humidity sensor
c) fit a separate humidity sensor

The switch may have been by-passed so that the 'on-with-light' system could not be switched off.
This could be reversed.

Or, of course, it may be faulty.

now to delete my last post since it doesn't make sense with the others gone. i don't see a delete button...
You can't totally delete a post, but you can 'edit it' (button at top right of post) such as to replace the entire message text with a dot or two!

Kind Regards, John
