I have just changed the extractor fan to a timer one, Fan would turn on but the timer is not working, switching off the fan will switch it off straight away.

The fan was originally installed with connection to the light switch that is when turning on the bathroom light will switch on the lights and extractor fan.

Please check the attached picture and let me know if I can do something to make the timer work.

The middle brown wire should be the switched live from the switch. And the RHS brown needs to be a permanent live to enable the timed run on.

I did that combination before as the fan before was wired that way, even the old extractor was a timer one but the timer never worked.
As I don't know much about electrics, took a picture of the old one before installing the new one and wired it exactly the same way as the old.

Seems you need an electrician, if there is no permanent live the fan will not run on.

The grey with the brown sleeve is the switched live. The brown with no sleeve is the perm live. so you need to swop those wires on the new fan.

If it doesn’t work you need a two probe voltage tester to see if the voltages are correct.
