Bathroom Floor - solid concrete, cold..

We have a carpet in the bathroom (downstairs) at the moment and its been there since we moved in. We need to get rid of it, but the floor is solid concrete on an outside wall - i'm concerned if we tile its going to be cold - we tiled the kitchen floor which is a circa 1994 solid concrete will insulation in it. The bathroom floor is original 1930's solid concrete and probably doesn't even have a DPM let alone any insulation.

Just wondering what the options are? Vynil with underlay to insulate against the floor? Or something more drastic such as digging it up and putting a modern solid floor down.

Strictly speaking, you can;t fit vinyl on an insulating underlay, however Forbo have developed an adhesive fibreboard style underlay that can be used with Marmoleum and this would provide a waterproof, insulated warmer floor than anything directly fitted to a screeded subfloor.

You can use it with their LVT products as well, but the nature of Marmoleum would arguably give you a warmer floor.
