Hi all

I’m currently doing my bathroom and I want to fit an LED mirror (with de mister??) to the wall opposite the bath. There was a shaver socket on that wall wired directly into the bathroom lights (1.5 T&E) Can I just reuse that wiring as im getting conflicting info or do I need to run a fuse spur from the socket ring to it?

My lights are not on an RCD protected circuit…. when the house was wired 15 years ago, it wasn't a necessity (something about bulbs popping and tripping everything).

I can take a spur ir even add to the ring, from the socket on the landing and add a fused switch above the door with the extractor isolator, it’s just a bit more work.

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

Yes, except:

Well no, in that case. You should fix that. No reason for non-RCD circuits in 2025.

Can you run a led mirror and demister from a lighting circuit without any issues or should they be on a fuse (best practice?. It may be easier just running from a spur

Cheers for that. It may just be easier to run a FS to the blanking plate above the door then a cable to behind the door
