Bathroom taps

Hi,

We have some very old gold taps on the sick in the downstairs loo. We don't really want to replace them right now but were wondering whether it might be possible to spray them silver to modernise them a bit? I can't find any information on Google but found this forum so thought I'd ask.

Nothing will work.

You can get a cheap set of contract grade taps for a fiver.
